Dr. Kavanagh completed Thoracic Surgery training at the University of Toronto. She, along with a team of dedicated surgeons are committed to offering you skilled, timely and compassionate care. Her emphasis is on minimally invasive approaches.

Dr. Kavanagh participates in several regional cancer programs in York, Simcoe, Durham and Peel.
She is happy to see new patients for evaluation of:
- lung cancer or pulmonary nodules (minimally invasive lobectomy offered)
- mediastinal adenopathy or tumors
- pleural effusions
- esophageal cancer or dysphagia
- chest wall defects like pectus deformities or thoracic outlet syndrome
- pneumothorax or chest wall trauma
- GERD
- hiatus hernia
- hyperhydrosis
Referrals for diagnostic/therapeutic bronchoscopy/upper endoscopy are also welcome.

She is the current VP of the section on Thoracic Surgery for the OMA, is working on curriculum development for York University's new medical school, and supports women and ch
